The Club’s trailer for transportation of the layouts
The Club at Modell Expo IntermodellBau DORTMUND April 2005
3 - The Exhibitions

The Club accepts, when possible, to attend to model exhibitions in France or in foreign countries.

That part of the club’s activity is necessary for us. It dynamizes the members to win the challenge of concepting and building the layouts.

You could find in the chapter "Exhibitions" the program of the completed and planned exhibitions, as well as the conditions required for our participation
.

   1 - The Club :

The "Club de Modélisme de Draveil" (CMD) has been founded in 1974.

In 2009, 15 adults and 4 teenagers are active members of the Club.

Draveil is a city located 13 miles south of Paris and 5 miles south of Orly Airport. The population is 30.000. Located at 1.5 miles from and between the famous tracks PLM (Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée) and Paris- Toulouse, Draveil is one of the rare cities around Paris without any railway station.

   2 - Club's Activities

3 different layouts are at the disposal of members :

-    A modular HOm layout particularly dedicated for exhibitions.

-    A HO layout (French SNCF type with 1500V Catenary system). The track could located on the PLM (Paris Lyon Méditerranée)
or P.O (Paris Orléans Toulouse) sites.

-    A N layout (German DB type). A part of this layout is made up with 5 modules or more which can be transported and shown
        during exhibitions.

The structure of the HO and N layouts is very simple. The both layouts are constituted with a double track. The minimum radius
is 100 in. except points. The centenary system allows the engines to run with the pantograph in the upper position, but it has no
electrical function.

The tracks of the main station (HO layout) are long enough to allow the stop of a 9 coaches train (length 120 in.).
The tracks of the main station (N layout) are long enough to allow the stop of a 11 coaches train (length 79 in.).

The design of these layouts allows to use all kinds of rolling stock, except some US wagon (too large size), in good conditions
of realism.
